Space Trucker is heading to the gym to meet DaWolf,as it is the time of the day that DaWolf is training with a sparring partner.
As he enters,he hears the usual sounds of fighting-the sound of feet on the mat,heavy breathing,the rustling of hands searching for a hold...
He turns to the ring and to his dismay,he sees Mank having DaWolf in a peculiar variation of a Sleeper Hold!
Without hesitation,he grabs a fire extinguisher and rushes to the ring,but as he passes below the ropes,Dawolf sees him and raises an arm shouting "NO!"
Mank releases DaWolf from the hold and takes a step back,raising his arms to a "No harm done!" gesture,while grinning broadly!
"What the hell is going on?" Space Trucker asks,still holding the extinguisher in a threatening pose.
"Mank is in the pack now,he was just showing me a new variation of the Sleeper hold" DaWolf replies,smiling!
Space Trucker lets the extinguisher fall on the mat,with an expression of total surprise on his face!
"What?" he finally says.
"That's right dude,now close your mouth-your dental work isn't good enough for public display!" Mank says mockingly.
"Oh,shove it Mank!" DaWolf replied "How could he know?He's been away for too long!"
He turns to Space Trucker and they shake hands.
"Good to see you're back, you're lookin' good!" DaWolf says.
"Yeah-for a cripple!"Mank adds.
"MANK!" DaWolf turns angrily to his sparring partner!
"No,he's right!... I wouldn't last ten seconds in the ring with him-not now!" Space Trucker admits with a bitter smile.
Now it's Mank's turn to look stunned-he expected something more like the old Space Trucker,something like "this cripple will rip your head off!" or something of the sort...
"Then how come you rushed in like this?" he finally asks.
"Well,if I drew your attention,then Dawolf could break the lock and throw you down.
It's a good variation,but it requires a lot of strength and focus-if you lose it for a moment...let me show you!" Space Trucker replied.
He got in position and Mank applied the lock,using minimum strength.
"Now,let's suppose that something distracts you-someone calls you names,or hits you in the back with a steel chair and momentarily you lose your focus,ok?"
"Ok" Mank said.
"Then,providing your opponent understands what's happening and has some strength left,he can do this.." Space Trucker says and he performs a series of moves.
He squats,places his thigh below Mank's thigh,raises his free arm below Mank's arm,twists it over Mank's shoulder,grabs his chin with the the thumb,places his index finger under his nose and applies pressure upwards and back,while turning his torso.
Mank falls back with a loud thump!
Mank gets up,turns to DaWolf and says "Well,at least his brain still works!"
He grins and adds "Well,we could try a Protomank to see how his body keeps working." Then he starts laughing loudly!
Space Trucker grins too and adds "Mank,I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in my well being,but I'd prefer to get hit by a Hummer again,than getting a Protomank!"
They all burst into laughing!
When they finally managed to stop laughing,they stood silent for a while.
DaWolf broke the silence first.
"Good thing you came by... we got some stuff to discuss. Nobody forgot that we you were put out of business you were the rightful owner of this... (pointing at the Elite title at the edge of the ring)"
"Hey, hold on a minute... you won that in a hard-fought match!" ST exclaimed.
"And so did you, but now with Suicide!! moving to Monday nights, one of our titles has to move back to Friday, and you're the one who should get it."
"No, no, no.. I'm still not fit to hold that title, and even if I were I wouldn't take it from you!"
DaWolf smiles and adds: "Relax man, you won this in a match against me to start with! (not letting Space Trucker interrupt) Listen, you saw Sarah Channing come up with her brilliant solution earlier on, and looks like I'm gonna have to fight Suicide!! before even having the chance to fight alongside with him.. whoever loses will vacate his title and send it off to Friday.."
"Oh,cut the crap ST!" Mank intervened "If you were not good enough,you wouldn't be here!Besides,I want you to get better man,I need a better punching bag!"
"MANK!" DaWolf turned angrily
"What?" Mank replied,opening wide his arms
"Nobody could train my finishers better than him-last time,it took me three finishers to bring him down!I still can't believe the amount of damage he could handle!"
"Well,this won't happen again for a long time!" ST replied smiling
"But you're right-if I'm to fully recover,I need the best support I can have and a goal-to prove myself worthy of that belt again!"
"That's more like it!" DaWolf replied smiling and concluded
"I'm gonna need you to train long and hard.. The Pack needs you back on Monday and we'll save your seat!"
